Instructions for Use:

Preparation:

Ensure hands are properly sanitized and wear sterile gloves.
-
Open the sterile packaging and remove the disposable speculum.
-

Patient Positioning:
-
Ask the patient to lie in the lithotomy position on the examination table.
-

Insertion:
-
Gently separate the labia and slowly insert the closed speculum into the vaginal canal at a slightly downward angle.
-
Once inserted, open the blades using the handle until the cervix is clearly visible.

Locking:

Rotate the rubber bayonet 90 degrees to lock the jaws of the speculum in place.

Pap Smear Sampling:

Use a cervical brush or spatula to collect cell samples from the transformation zone of the cervix.

Removal:

Release the lock, gently close the blades, and carefully remove the speculum from the vaginal canal.

Disposal:

Discard the used speculum in a designated medical waste container following clinical waste protocols.
