The YGR®Tapered Nylon Fiber Cytology Cervical Brush is a sterile, single-use medical device designed for the effective and accurate collection of cervical cell samples during gynecological examinations. It is ideal for use in routine cervical screening procedures such as TCT (ThinPrep Cytologic Test), HPV testing, and diagnosis of cervical lesions. This brush ensures reliable sampling with minimal patient discomfort.
Intended Use:
This cervical sampling brush is used for:
Collecting epithelial cell samples from the cervical transformation zone.
Supporting accurate screening for cervical cancer, HPV infection, and precancerous lesions.
Providing high-quality cell specimens for liquid-based cytology and related diagnostic methods.
Product Advantages:
✅ High Sampling Efficiency: The soft, spiral-shaped nylon bristles are designed to effectively collect sufficient cervical cells, including from the endocervical canal and ectocervix.
✅ Minimized Patient Discomfort: Flexible bristles reduce irritation while maintaining efficient cell capture.
✅ Single-Use & Sterile: Individually packaged in sterile pouches to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination; ready to use immediately.
✅ Reliable Sample Quality: Ensures uniform and representative cellular samples for accurate cytological evaluation.
✅ Compatible with TCT/HPV: Optimized for use in modern cervical screening protocols including liquid-based cytology and HPV DNA testing.
Instructions for Use:
Preparation:
Open the sterile packaging immediately before use.
Wear sterile gloves and ensure all instruments are properly prepared.
Patient Positioning:
Position the patient in the lithotomy position.
Insert a vaginal speculum to fully expose the cervix.
Sample Collection:
Gently insert the brush into the cervical canal so that the bristles contact both the endocervix and ectocervix.
Rotate the brush 360–720 degrees (typically 3–5 full turns) in a single direction to collect cells.
Sample Transfer:
Immediately transfer the collected specimen into a vial containing a liquid-based cytology medium (e.g., for TCT or HPV test), following laboratory protocol.
Rinse the brush by swirling it vigorously in the vial 10–15 times or as per local guidelines.
Disposal:
Dispose of the brush and packaging in a medical waste container according to clinical waste regulations.
